Illness has Conquered

Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2, 2013

Location: Cedar Bluff State Park, Ellis, Kansas. Sites 14 and 15 in the Prickly Pear loop. Power and water, and cold water showers! 17.50 per night

We are taking a layover to see if we can get a couple of us feeling better.

With all of the yard work being done at the 3 Musketeers, allergies were prevalent almost all around. Betty has had a real hard time with them, and Fred thought allergies might have gotten him, but turned out to be a cold that had spawned an ear infection. He was having bad nights, so this morning found a clinic where he could be seen and get a prescription. 1DSCN0727

After finally getting the prescription filled, we headed out for the day, stopping for our stamps at the Santa Fe Trail Center. They have a lot on display: buggies, furniture, guns, buildings, musical instruments, a model T, and lots more.

By this time Betty was feverish and not feeling well at all, so we headed to Cedar Bluff State Park where we had been told there were hookups. We will stay here for a couple of days, and hope Barney and Wilma can avoid getting sick.1DSCN0770

By Sunday morning Fred was doing a little better and the fever broke for Betty, so maybe we will again get under way Monday. We can spend another day here if needed.1DSCN0771

The shower house is about a quarter mile away from our camp sites. Barney and Betty went over this morning to get a shower, and never could get hot water. Guess they didn’t promise us hot showers!
