More fishing, Unique catch

Monday, September 9, 2013

The fog looked like it would lift shortly, and away we went to the fishing hole. As it turned out, the low clouds never did go away, and it was a little cooler all day.DSCN1780

Somebody already had our parking spots on the river access road by the time we got there, so we made the best of it. Barney and Fred didn’t have to go as far out today. During the week it isn’t nearly as busy.

Barney made the only catches today, but couldn’t keep either one. The first was this dude:DSCN1784DSCN1783

A cormorant was after the bait, and got himself hooked. He was stunned, but took off okay after being released.

The second catch had grabbed on to the weight and didn’t want to let go.

Alas, no fish caught today.  When the guys came in we went back to camp and had chicken wraps for lunch, then just lazed away the rest of the day, getting naps, showers, reading, etc. It was a little too windy for the beach overlook or golf.

After french dip sandwiches for supper, we  enjoyed a round of dominoes that Fred won.
